Judith Benaroche Johnson, CMP
President and CEO

With the company since 1995 and having served as President since 1999, Judith has overseen the growth of Rx Worldwide Meetings into one of the leading worldwide, third-party meeting planners for the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical industries. In her tenure, sales have skyrocketed from less than $1 million to more than $8 million. Also, she has diversified and expanded the client base 12 times over, with a substantial portion of the business coming from the world’s most successful pharmaceutical companies.

 

Judith started at Rx Worldwide as Director of Meetings and then worked as Vice President before assuming leadership of the company. Prior to joining Rx Worldwide, she was National Sales Manager for two other meeting planning firms. At one, she created and managed events for up to 14,000 participants and was the company’s top producer.

 

Judith has a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Southern Illinois University where she graduated with honors. She is on the advisory boards of the Richland College Travel and Meeting Management program (TEMM), the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, Associated Luxury Hotels (ALHI) and the Pharmaceutical Meeting Planners Forum. She has published articles in Successful Meetings Magazine and Pharmaceutical Executive Magazine and has been the subject of profiles in Dallas Business Journal and Meetings and Conventions Magazine. She has spoken at the Pharmaceutical Meeting Planners Forum, the Drug Information Association and the Plano (Texas) Chamber of Commerce. She is a CEO Roundtable Facilitator for the Dallas Chamber of Commerce, CEO Group.

 

Most memorable travel experiences: 
“Visiting cities all over China just as the country was opening up to tourism in 1980 and visiting India last year, both hugely dynamic, evolving societies.”

 

 

 

 

Michael Johnson

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Johnson brings more than 30 years of senior-level operations management to Rx Worldwide Meetings. He is responsible for the daily operations of the company and the direction of the sales effort. A self-professed “nuts and bolts manager,” Michael focuses on every element that contributes to the company’s exceptional service, and he oversees the hiring process evaluating candidates to make certain they are ideal for us and for our clients.

 

Mr. Johnson stays in close contact with customers, solicits feedback on the company’s performance and supervises all major projects, ensuring that Rx Worldwide lives up to its promises for all clients.

 

Michael’s career evolved to the meeting management industry through several years of executive positions in the restaurant industry. Aside from VP positions with Sonic, Black-eyed Pea Restaurants and Long John Silver’s, Inc., he also served as the President of Restaurant Outlook from 1999 – 2002, a consulting firm specializing in restaurant operations. 

 

Michael has a Bachelor of Arts degree from West Virginia’s West Liberty College in Education/Social Studies.

Emmanuel Leeper, MBA
Executive Director

Emmanuel joined Rx Worldwide Meetings in 2005 as Controller and quickly demonstrated his ability to handle broader responsibilities. Today he manages our accounting, budgeting and control processes and helps guide top management in planning for growth. He brings to our organization 25 years of accounting experience in banking, finance, property management and manufacturing. 

 

Away from work, Emmanuel gives way to his unbuttoned side as a rock-and-roller and blues man. A guitarist since 15, he is a veteran of several bands.

 

Emmanuel earned his MBA (Master of Business Administration) and bachelor's degree from Bellevue University.

 

Most memorable travel experience:
“A 1981 bus trip through the South as a college student. I saw firsthand the results of segregation. There were still separate water fountains in towns in Mississippi and Alabama. We’ve come a long way, and I try to do my part to continue the advancement.”

 

 

 

 

Steven E. Finley, Jr.

Director of Business Development

Steve is our face-to-face liaison with clients. He collaborates with each client to determine which Rx Worldwide services are right for his or her event. He also devotes a great deal of time to managing client relationships, making certain that each client receives unsurpassed service. He is responsible for sales growth and continues to contribute to our growth as more people become acquainted with our unique expertise in the pharmaceutical and biotech fields. 

 

Steve is a dedicated husband, a proud father of five children and a devoted sports fan (Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes).

 

Most memorable travel experiences:
“A family trip to a cabin in the Colorado Mountains. Also an emergency landing in Long Beach – fortunately uneventful and certainly memorable.”

 

 

 

 

Darcie Wooten
Director of Meetings

With more than a decade of meeting planning experience, Darcie has planned and managed events for guests numbering from ten to more than 2,000. She’s worked with leading pharma, biotech and medical companies, as well as planned meeting and incentive trips for the Super Bowl, The Masters and the Final Four. Darcie directs our team of meeting planners and coordinators, helping them maintain the exceptionally high standards for which we are known.  She continually seeks ways to improve and innovate our operations as well as maintaining and growing relationships with preferred suppliers so that we may provide clients with the most cost-effective, highest-quality services.

 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management/International Travel and Tourism from Arizona State University.

 

Most memorable travel experiences: 
“Summer school in Australia and New Zealand, Semester at Sea (a global study program), and a sunrise bike trip from the summit of Mt. Haleakala 38 miles to sea level.”

 

 

 

 

Brian Hamm, ACSP
Database and Systems Administrator

An IT professional with 12 years experience in database and systems administration, Brian oversees the technical direction of the company. He developed the online event registration and RFP systems in use at Rx Worldwide Meetings.

 

Brian holds Apple Certifications in Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server. He's an active member of both ACN (Apple Consultants Network) and FMPUG (FileMaker Pro User Group). He has served as Program Director for the Apple Corps of Dallas and co-founded the Plano Mac User Group.

 

Brian studied music theory and composition at the University of North Texas and has performed dozens of symphonic works in as many venues. He has made concert appearances at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center with the Dallas Symphony, Carnegie Hall and at the Wiener Konzert-Haus in Vienna. Brian also actively studies classical guitar.

“Performing the Mozart Requiem and Haydn Nelson Mass at the Wiener Konzert-Haus (Vienna) earlier this year.”

 

 

 

 

Mary Beth Robinson
Senior Meeting Manager

Mary Beth has experienced one aspect of meeting management that is highly unique in our segment—she coordinated all security elements for the 2005 FedEx Orange Bowl National Championship game, liaising with all involved security agencies. While our typical clients do not have security concerns of this scale, having an expert like Mary Beth always helps when the need for security arises.

 

Day-to-day, she manages both domestic and international meetings while assisting with sales presentations, proposals, client relationships and contracts.

 

A collegiate swimmer at University of Florida, she attended the university on a full athletic scholarship and was a member of the 2000 and 2001 NCAA championship teams.

 

Most memorable travel experiences:
“A dinner cruise on the Seine in Paris and dinner at Felix Restaurant at the top of the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong, one of the world’s best restaurants with amazing views of the city.”

 

 

 

 

Richard Robichaud, CMP
Senior Meeting Manager

Richard oversees a team of meeting coordinators in planning domestic and international meetings. His responsibilities include contract negotiation, database management, air and ground transportation, logistical supervision, vendor management and post-program analysis.

 

Having served as Meeting Manager for Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the leading hospitality industry association, he has represented and worked with many of the most influential people in his industry. There he led the planning teams and vendor relationships for MPI’s World Education Congress, the association’s largest international congress.

 

A graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, he has a scientific mind that focuses on details and accuracy in his communications and performance. Ricky became a Certified Meeting Professional in 2001 and remains actively involved in the local hospitality community.

 

Most memorable travel experience:
"India.  To become engrossed in this fascinating culture, I came away with memories and experiences I will never forget. The service and kindness from the Indians was extraordinary, truly raising the bar on what it means to provide customer service."

 

 

 

 

Mandy Schimming
Meeting and Project Manager


Mandy leads all aspects of planning and managing approximately 20 domestic and international meetings per year. She conducts due diligence on sites around the world to make sure they meet customer expectations and has planned meetings with budgets in excess of $2 million. Regardless of the event complexity, scope or cost, Mandy makes the process seem nearly effortless to clients and sponsors. In addition to managing meetings she is the liaison for our marketing and internal projects at Rx Worldwide Meetings. Having relocated from Austin, Texas, Mandy joined Rx Worldwide in 2005.


Mandy graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphic Design.


Most memorable travel experiences:
“Visits to more than a dozen countries and islands. Prague captured my heart. Dinner in a castle there was especially memorable. Another favorite was Nevis, for its beaches, clear water and superb scuba diving.”

 

 

 

 

Emily Rommel
Sales & Proposal Manager

With a diverse background in both the meeting and hospitality industries, Emily is no stranger to the importance of providing unsurpassed customer service. Emily is our liaison between clients and hotel providers.

 

She works closely with each client during the site selection process to determine his or her meeting objectives and to ensure the best possible outcome. Her responsibilities include preparing detailed proposals including budgets, and vendor negotiations. Emily is also responsible for business development.

 

She has held meeting and management roles for companies including Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Brinker International and Southwest Airlines.

 

Emily is a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a BBA in Marketing.

 

Most memorable travel experience:
“Surviving my Caribbean honeymoon during Hurricane Lenny. I was incredibly impressed with the hotel's ability to maintain order, keep everyone informed, and take extra precautions to ensure the comfort and safety of each and every guest. Thanks to their dedication to service, I can look back on my honeymoon with only fond memories.”

 

 

 

 

Cathleen Manning, MBA
Senior Accountant

Cathleen joined Rx Worldwide in 2007 from EmCare in Dallas, where she was a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager. Using her expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting and general ledger accounting, Cathleen helps us provide more cost-effective event planning for our clients. Prior to her tenure at EmCare, she served in accounting positions at Cox Communications and NEC America.

 

Cathleen volunteers at The Samaritan Inn, a homeless shelter in McKinney, Texas, and volunteers for the SPCA and other animal rescue groups.

 

She has an MBA from Mercer University and a BBA in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University.

 

Most memorable travel experience:
“Three weeks in Jamaica in 2000.”

 

 

 

 

Whitney Marano
Sales and Meeting Coordinator

Whitney works closely with numerous planning teams to organize meetings around the world, providing a highly personal touch to every client relationship. In addition to her planning responsibilities, Whitney supports the Director of Business Development in preparing client proposals.

 

Having come to Rx Worldwide Meetings from ClubCorp, Whitney learned early in her career the value of personal attention. She was one of twelve college graduates selected from 150 candidates to participate in ClubCorp’s Leadership in Development program. Following her success in the program, she became Member Relations Director for ClubCorp property Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney, Texas.

 

Whitney is an academic advisor of the Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta at Texas Wesleyan University and volunteers for Heroes for Children, which assists families with children battling cancer. She has a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management with an Event Planning Concentration from the University of Central Florida.

 

Most memorable travel experience:
“A school trip, which was my first time abroad — to London, Canterbury, Paris and Zurich. After that, I became so much more aware of the world outside of the United States and I wanted to see more.”

 

 

 

 

Lauren Melton
Meeting & Community Relations Coordinator

Lauren takes full advantage of her detail-oriented personality. She maintains official documents of doctor spend and pharma codes, so we can access and use them to our clients’ advantage. Lauren is instrumental in the entire meeting planning process, from the proposal to on-site support. Managing our philanthropic activities, she is our principal contact with CITY House, a nonprofit, which provides services to runaway and abused children.

 

Prior to joining Rx Worldwide Meetings, Lauren was Volunteer Coordinator, an internship funded by Exxon-Mobil, for the Dallas mayor’s “Back-to-School” fair. Also, she was named Star Employee for Fall 2004 in her capacity as a Promotional and Service Provider for the Dallas Cowboys.

 

Lauren has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Educational Psychology from The University of North Texas.

Tarynn Ellis
Meeting Coordinator

Tarynn joined Rx Worldwide in 2009 while completing an internship to conclude her degree in Hospitality Management at the University of North Texas. Her degree emphasized management and leadership in the hospitality industry.

 

Tarynn is an integral part of the meeting planning procedure from the proposal to operational production to on-site support. She is involved in the research of the meeting destinations and develops helpful websites for each of the meeting venues.

 

Most memorable travel experience:
“Participating on a mission trip to an orphanage in Juarez, Mexico, made me realize there is more out there than just the United States and there are people everywhere needing our help.”
